A great story is comprised of great characters. Even more importantly, a great story is comprised of great relationships among those characters.

Well, I can't spoil all the relational-dynamics of Dragonwitch for you. If I did that, I'd ruin the story. But I can give you a glimpse into the individual lives and histories of those you are going to meet this coming summer.

So, without further ado, allow me to present to you the wonderful men and women--mortals and immortals alike--who have been my imaginary friends for these last several years. I hope they will soon be as dear to you as they are to me.

My Favorite Characters

I am new to this world but I absolutely adore it. My favorite characters so far are Sir Eanrin and Dame Imraldera. They make one remarkable team!

Sir Eanrin

Poet, bard, knight, and immortal Faerie, Eanrin of Rudiobus never expected to find himself caught up in the troubles of mortals. But as untold dangers creep from the dangerous Far World into the Near, Eanrin is the only one who might be able to save the people of Gaheris Castle from disaster.

Dame Imraldera

The Lady of the Haven, Imraldera is a mortal woman who has entered the Wood Between and stepped outside of her time to serve as a knight of Farthestshore. Along with Sir Eanrin, she guards the gates of the Between, preventing Faerie beasts from entering the Near World and plaguing mortals.

But when a figure out of legend approaches Imraldera with a dangerous request, she must decide whether or not to leave her watch unguarded . . . and the mortals of the Near World exposed to deadly enemies.

About the Author:

Anne Elisabeth Stengl makes her home in Raleigh, North Carolina, where she lives with her husband, Rohan, a passel of cats, and one long-suffering dog. When she's not writing, she enjoys Shakespeare, opera, and tea, and studies piano, painting, and pastry baking. She studied illustration at Grace College and English literature at Campbell University. She is the author of HEARTLESS, VEILED ROSE, MOONBLOOD, and STARFLOWER, with DRAGONWITCH due to release in 2013. HEARTLESS and VEILED ROSE have each been honored with a Christy Award.
