Armchair BEA: Beyond Your Blog

Today at Armchair BEA we are talking about how blogging has opened up opportunities for you beyond free books.

I started my blog because I love reading and I wanted to share my opinion about what I read.  I have not been blogging very long but I quickly learned that it is not just fun, it is WORK.

I really love the community but sometime I wonder if there is a certain way to get into the "in" crowd.

I hope that one day my networking will pay off and I'll get all those guest post and interviews.  That's my favorite part of other blogs. But for now I'm just going to set back and enjoy reading and reviewing.

I did get the opportunity to write a review for Vamp Chix and Bite Club which is just amazing.  I'm a huge fan!!  They said my review of Once Burned by Jeaniene Frost would be up sometime Friday so go check it out!!

I hope to one day go to BEA for real and oh the networking one could do there!!

  1. My best online networking advice is to find blogs/bloggers that you really like, comment on their blogs often, and form friendships. Also, Twitter is invaluable. It helps you connect and converse with so many people so easily.

I hope that helps. Happy ABEA!

  2. I think as long as you're having fun with the work of blogging it's all good. I've gotten some of those interview but I mostly just ask. Most authors are flattered and most publishers want promotion. Twitter has by far been the best help for me with this. I like to tweet what I'm reading. If the author responds, then I ask. Can I interview you? Not turned down very often.

    Thanks for participating!
